Price notes

How we use Japan trip prices and official sources.

Japan Budget Trip uses planning ranges, not live quotes. Prices on the site are meant to help travelers compare decisions before booking: hotel location, route shape, airport transfers, JR Pass value, food budget, mobile data, and insurance basics.

Why not use live scraped hotel prices?

Hotel and OTA prices change constantly, may depend on cookies, region, occupancy, cancellation policy, taxes, and platform terms. Instead of scraping live hotel listings, this site uses planning ranges and points readers toward the decision that matters: stay area, station access, room type, cancellation terms, and total route cost.

Review cycle

High-impact pages such as trip cost, JR Pass alternatives, airport transfers, hotel booking, eSIM, insurance, and seasonal crowd guides should be reviewed before major planning seasons or when official prices and rules change. Static route advice may remain useful longer, but source links and price-sensitive statements should still be checked periodically.

When a price changes

If an official fare, tax, pass rule, or provider term changes, the guide should be updated with a new modified date and the affected recommendation should be rechecked. When the exact current price matters, the guide should direct readers to the official source or provider checkout rather than pretending a planning range is a live quote.

Machine-readable files

The site also keeps lightweight JSON files for maintenance and future automation:
